How Shri Radhakrishna Hospital and Research Institute handles personal information on this website and in the RK Hospital app. Last updated 29 September 2026.
1. Who we are
Shri Radhakrishna Hospital and Research Institute is a 100-bed charitable multispeciality hospital on Central Avenue Road, East Wardhaman Nagar, Nagpur 440008, run by the Radhakrishna Charitable Trust and the Shivprasad Poddar Charitable Trust ("the hospital", "we", "us").
This policy covers:
- this website, radhakrishnahospitalnagpur.com;
- the RK Hospital web app at radhakrishnahospitalnagpur.com/app/; and
- the RK Hospital apps for Android and iPhone, which open that web app.
Care you receive at the hospital itself, including registration, medical records, test reports and billing, is handled under the hospital's clinical record-keeping practices and the laws that apply to hospitals in India. Ask at reception if you have questions about your medical records.
2. What we collect
Information you choose to give us
When you contact us by WhatsApp, phone or in person, we receive what you tell us. Depending on your request, this can include:
- your name, mobile number and, for enquiries, your organisation, location or email;
- the department, doctor, day and time you prefer for an appointment;
- health information you decide to share, such as symptoms, reports or prescriptions;
- insurance or government-scheme details, if you ask us to check your cover;
- your resume, if you apply for a job; and company details, if you register as a vendor or ask about a franchisee or satellite centre;
- donation details, if you choose to give.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Like almost every website, our hosting provider records technical details of each visit, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.
- Offline storage on your device. The website and app save copies of their own pages and images in your browser so they load faster and work without internet. This stays on your device.
- A single preference. If you close the "Get the app" banner, your browser remembers that choice for 30 days. It is not used to identify you.
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics or tracking tools, social media pixels or fingerprinting on this website or in the app.
3. Forms and WhatsApp
The forms on this website and in the app (appointments, online consultation, naturopathy bookings, donations, careers, vendor registration, franchisee enquiries and insurance checks) work the same way:
- what you type stays on your device and is not stored on our website;
- when you press the button, WhatsApp opens with your details written into a message to our front desk (+91 96232 84104);
- nothing reaches us until you tap Send in WhatsApp. You can edit or delete the message first.
Once you send it, the message is held in the hospital's WhatsApp account and handled by our front desk team. WhatsApp is run by WhatsApp LLC (Meta), and its own privacy policy also applies to messages sent through it.
4. How we use your information
- to arrange and confirm appointments, online consultations and therapy sessions, and to contact you about them;
- to provide and coordinate your treatment;
- to help with cashless insurance, reimbursement claims and government health schemes, when you ask us to;
- to process donations and send receipts;
- to consider job applications, vendor registrations and partnership enquiries;
- to keep our website and app secure and working; and
- to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We use your information only for the purpose you gave it for, or for a purpose the law allows.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only when needed:
- with the hospital's doctors and staff involved in your care or your request;
- with your insurer or third-party administrator (TPA), when you ask us to arrange cashless treatment or a claim;
- with government scheme authorities, such as PM-JAY or MJPJAY, when you apply through us;
- with service providers who help us run the website, such as our hosting provider, under their own confidentiality and security terms; and
- when required by law, a court order or a government authority, or to protect someone's life or safety in an emergency.
6. Third-party services
Some features open or load services run by other companies. Their privacy policies apply to what they collect:
- WhatsApp (Meta): forms, booking and chat with our desk.
- Google Maps: the map on our Contact page and "Get directions" links.
- Google Fonts: the app loads its typefaces from Google's servers, which receive your IP address.
- Instagram and Facebook: only if you tap our social media links.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store: if you download our app, the store may collect information about the download under its own policy.
7. The RK Hospital mobile app
- The app has no login or user accounts and does not collect personal data by itself.
- It asks for no device permissions: no location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files. The Android app uses only internet access.
- "Call" buttons open your phone's own dialer. You decide whether to place the call.
- Booking and enquiry forms work through WhatsApp exactly as described in section 3.
- The app saves its own pages on your phone so it can open without internet. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes them.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose it was given, or for longer where the law requires it (for example, for medical, tax or accounting records). Server logs are kept for a limited period by our hosting provider.
9. Security
The website and app are served only over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to the hospital's WhatsApp account and systems is limited to staff who need it. No system is completely secure, so please do not send passwords, bank details or card numbers through WhatsApp or our forms.
10. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and how we use it;
- correct, complete or update it;
- delete it, where we are not required by law to keep it;
- stop using it for a purpose you had agreed to (withdraw consent); and
- nominate someone to act on your behalf if you are unable to.
To make a request or raise a complaint, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
11. Children
Our website and app are meant for adults. Appointments and requests for a child under 18 should be made by a parent or guardian, who can also exercise the rights above on the child's behalf.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website, app or practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
