Our story
It began with two rooms and a man who would not turn people away.
- 1989
Shri Shyamsundarji Poddar rents two rooms on Central Avenue Road. No ward, no theatre. Patients pay what they have.
- 1991
Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma, later President of India, opens the thirty-bed hospital.
- Today
100 beds, 21 departments and 38,210 patients a year. Still a charitable trust, still no shareholders.
And still a free specialist clinic every weekday, for anyone who cannot pay.
